Green tea is manufactured from Camellia Sinensis leaves and buds that have not been subjected to the same withering and oxidation process as oolong or black teas. Green tea is high in polyphenol antioxidants, such as EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate). Green tea extract has been proved in numerous trials to help with weight loss, disease prevention, blood sugar regulation, and cognitive health. Green tea has enough caffeine to cause an impact, but it is far less than coffee. It also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that is thought to help with anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
